The New York Jets’ player counters Bills’ Dion Dawkins with a cutting and bold reply.
Sauce Gardner wasn’t passive about the criticisms from Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins against the New York Jets. He felt compelled to respond, and he did just that. But before delving into their exchange, let’s recap the backstory of their conflict, shall we?
The feud began during a match between the New York Jets and the Bills in Week 11 of the 2023 season when Dawkins and Jets defensive end Michael Clemons had an altercation off the field. More recently, Dawkins made disparaging remarks about Clemons and the Jets during an appearance on VladTV, adding fuel to the fire.
On VladTV, Dawkins referred to Clemons as a “bβ- boy” and accused him of initiating their postgame altercation in the tunnel at Highmark Stadium on Nov. 19 following the Bills’ 32-6 victory. When directly asked about the altercation, Dawkins dismissed it as “weirdos being weird.”
Regarding the Jets, Dawkins expressed disdain, stating, “I hate them, all of them, bro. … When it comes to sports, there are people that play the sport because they love the sport. And then thereβs people that play the sport just to try to be cool. I feel like they play the sport to try to be cool. Those are a bunch of dudes that just want to take pictures on Instagram. Thatβs whack.”
Sauce Gardner of the New York Jets responds to Dawkins.
When Gardner heard Dawkins’ comments about his teammate and team, he swiftly reacted.
“He’s saying we’re trying to be cool, but then he goes on Vlad without a shirt on ππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππ”
Gardner’s original post seems to have been removed, but Jets Wire still had it available on their site. This could suggest a possible change of heart from Gardner regarding Dawkins. Regardless, the upcoming match between the New York Jets and the Bills in the 2024 NFL season will be intriguing to watch.
