A prominent player from the Raiders is thinking about…

The revamped Las Vegas Raiders are poised to be a captivating team to follow in the 2024 season due to their potential to acquire impactful players for their roster in the upcoming months.

With over $40 million in cap space available for free agency and nine picks in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, including the 13th overall pick, the Raiders have ample opportunities to bolster their team.

Darren Waller, Raiders, Giants

Considering the depth of talent in this draft class, particularly in positions like wide receivers, offensive linemen, and quarterbacks, the team has the chance to secure a foundational player to lead them for years to come.

The New York Giants, on the other hand, don’t share the same level of optimism, as they face significant challenges following a tumultuous season.

The team encountered substantial difficulties, particularly with injuries impacting both their offense and defense. Notably, Darren Waller, whom the Giants signed to a three-year deal the previous offseason, struggled with injuries.

Initially anticipated to fulfill his contract, it appears that the former Raider is now considering retirement from the NFL, as reported by Paul Schwartz and Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post.

When he’s not sidelined by injuries, Waller poses a significant threat in the passing game, utilizing his size advantage as a prime target for quarterbacks, particularly in the red zone. However, his inaugural season with the New York Giants was marred by injuries, resulting in modest statistics of 52 receptions for 552 yards and only one touchdown.

Should Waller opt for retirement, his legacy will be forever tied to his time with the Raiders, where he emerged as a standout player in the 2020 season. His inaugural Pro Bowl appearance showcased his potential as the next elite tight end, although his progress was hindered by subsequent injuries.

The Las Vegas Raiders are currently the frontrunners in the race to sign Russell Wilson, who is seeking a new team after being released by the Denver Broncos. With the uncertainty surrounding their starting quarterback for the 2024 season, the Raiders have various options to consider, with the addition of a veteran quarterback being the most probable scenario. Las Vegas has emerged as one of the top contenders to secure Wilson’s services, according to betting odds.
