Breaking News: Denver Broncos have signed a 25-year-old defensive player who…
This week, safety Brandon Jones became the first outside free agent to sign with the Denver Broncos in the current free agency period, and he couldn’t be more thrilled. “I was shocked, but also super, super happy,” he said, recalling his reaction to the news.
Interestingly, Jones had previously played for the Broncos with his city league team, which he finds to be a remarkable coincidence. “Sounds crazy but I promise I have receipts…and I think it’s kinda just full circle, so everything worked out just the way it’s supposed to be.”
Jones will join a roster that includes Caden Sterns, P.J. Locke, Delarrin Turner-Yell, and JL Skinner. What’s even more exciting for him is reuniting with his “Texas boys,” as he puts it, with many fellow Longhorns “coming in strong” to the team.
However, one of his primary considerations for choosing an organization is the team atmosphere and camaraderie among players. Jones acknowledged that the reputation of the culture being fostered by Sean Payton was a significant factor in his decision.
“I think culture is often overlooked in many ways… once you establish it, it really grows and assists teams in achieving their goals,” he elaborated.
"It was a no-brainer. … It feels like I'm at home."

Also joining the Denver Broncos this week is former New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Malcolm Roach, who is eager to reunite with Sean Payton.
“Coach Payton gave me my chance as an undrafted free agent,” Roach said. “He gave me the opportunity to live out my dream, especially being from Louisiana. It was a no-brainer to reunite with my coach, all my old teammates, and my college teammates. It feels like I’m at home, for real.”
