The Panthers have scheduled a meeting with a premier free agent wide receiver.

The Carolina Panthers are aiming for significant upgrades after a disappointing 2-15 season. They’ve bolstered their interior offensive line to protect quarterback Bryce Young and are now considering adding weapons at wide receiver. Reports from Panthers reporters suggest that the team has scheduled a visit with free agent wide receiver Mike Williams.

Williams recently became a free agent after being released by the Chargers earlier in the week. His 2021 season was cut short by a torn ACL, limiting him to just three games.

Selected as the No. 7 overall pick by the Chargers in 2017, Williams had a standout season in 2021, recording 76 catches for 1,146 yards and 9 touchdowns. He has consistently averaged over 50 receiving yards per game over the last six seasons.

Carolina’s leading receiver last season was Adam Thielen, who caught 103 passes for 1,014 yards and 4 touchdowns. The team struggled in the passing game, throwing only 13 touchdown passes all season. The addition of a player like Williams could provide a much-needed boost to the Panthers’ offense.
