NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn is set to sign a contract with the New England Patriots. Osborn, 26, has been the Vikings’ third receiver for the past few seasons, but his production declined in 2023.
Last season, he had 48 receptions for 540 yards and three touchdowns, compared to at least 650 yards and five touchdowns in each of the previous two seasons.
In his three-year career with the Vikings, Osborn has amassed 158 receptions for 1,845 yards and 15 touchdowns, along with four carries for 16 yards.With K.J. Osborn joining the New England Patriots, the Minnesota Vikings will need to find a new No. 3 receiver. Brandon Powell appears to be the leading candidate for the role, having earned more playing time and posting the best season of his career in 2023, his first year with the Vikings.
Powell saw increased playing time as the season progressed and ended the year with 29 receptions for 324 yards and a touchdown.
