Breaking News: Vikings sign 28-year-old cornerback from a rival team.
The Minnesota Vikings are set to sign cornerback Shaquill Griffin to a one-year contract, as reported by Jordan Schultz. Griffin, 28, was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round from UCF in 2017.
After completing his four-year rookie contract worth $3,158,620, which included a signing bonus of $758,620, Griffin signed a three-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021.
The contract was worth up to $44.5 million with $29 million guaranteed. However, the Jaguars released him last year, and he subsequently signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans.
Later, the Panthers claimed Griffin off waivers in November. During the 2023 season, Griffin played in 13 games for the Panthers and Texans, tallying 39 tackles, an interception, and five pass defenses.
