Denver Broncos add a top deadly threat…
The Denver Broncos, still over a month away from their turn in the 2024 NFL Draft, are the subject of much speculation regarding their Round 1 pick. Despite undergoing what appears to be a complete rebuild, the team can use help across almost every position group.
While fans might expect the Broncos to choose a quarterback in the first round, that might not be the case. According to NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, the Broncos could be eyeing another position with the 12th overall selection. In his NFL Mock Draft 3.0, Jeremiah has the Broncos picking tight end Brock Bowers from the University of Georgia.
Jeremiah sees this as a “best player available” situation, suggesting that the Broncos could use Bowers similarly to how Sean Payton utilized Michael Thomas in New Orleans, deploying him in the slot. Bowers, a three-time All-American and a key player in Georgia’s recent national championship victories, has consistently impressive stats, making him an appealing choice for the Broncos.
While the Broncos have had limited production from the tight end position in recent years, they view Greg Dulcich, their 2022 third-round pick, as a talented receiving threat. However, injuries have hampered Dulcich’s availability, and Adam Trautman, while productive
may not have the same potential as Dulcich or a prospect like Bowers. Given Trautman’s new contract, which is structured over two years at $7.5 million, it’s possible that he may not be part of the Broncos’ long-term plans.
The Broncos need to focus on building a strong roster and providing their next quarterback with talented weapons. Bowers is a versatile player who could be utilized in various roles, making him an ideal choice for the Broncos. If he’s still available at Pick 12, the Broncos shouldn’t hesitate to select him as their first pick on April 25th.
