A 21-year-old standout from Ohio State’s football team chose not to take part in his Pro Day activities after missing the Combine.
“Today is Ohio State’s Pro Day, but teams have been informed that star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will not be participating in the workouts,” reported Albert Breer of The MMQB on Wednesday morning. “It will be relatively quiet in Columbus, as many top draft prospects have opted to remain in school. No general managers or head coaches are scheduled to attend.”
Breer also notes that Harrison is focusing on preparing for the NFL season at Ohio State instead of training specifically for Pro Day drills like the 40-yard dash. Despite this unconventional approach, the teams interested in drafting him appear unconcerned.
According to Breer, Harrison asked the nine teams he met with at the Combine if they needed to see anything at his Pro Day, and they all declined. This indicates that Harrison’s decision to skip Pro Day activities will not negatively impact his draft stock. Breer predicts that Marvin Harrison Jr. will still be a top-five pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Marvin Harrison Jr., a standout player for Ohio State football, stands out from most prospects due to his father being one of the greatest receivers in NFL history. This has likely put him on the radar of NFL teams since high school, if not earlier.
Despite his father’s legacy, Marvin Harrison Jr. has made a name for himself at Ohio State. He is a two-time All-American and was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year in 2023. During his three seasons with the Buckeyes, Harrison accumulated impressive statistics, including 155 catches, 2,613 yards, and 32 total touchdowns.
Standing at 6-foot-3, 209 pounds, he possesses good speed (although his exact 40-yard dash time is unknown) and exceptional hands, making him a highly regarded prospect for the NFL Draft.
