Browns Bringing Back Former Kicker

The Cleveland Browns surprised many by making it to the 2023 NFL Playoffs despite facing numerous injuries to key players during the regular season.

Although they were knocked out in the Wild Card Round by the Houston Texans, the Browns have high hopes for the 2024 season after making significant changes to their roster in the offseason.

It’s expected that Deshaun Watson will be fully recovered, and general manager Andrew Berry traded for Jerry Jeudy to boost the passing game.

With a healthy Myles Garrett leading the defense, the Browns should continue to be one of the top defensive units in the NFL.

However, their special teams could use some improvement, and to address this, the Browns have decided to bring back former kicker Cade York, as reported by Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

York, who was originally drafted by the Browns in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft after a successful college career at LSU, struggled in his rookie season, converting only 24 of 32 field goal attempts and missing a couple of extra points.

After being waived by the Browns and spending time on the practice squads of the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants, York finds himself back in Cleveland.

He will likely have to compete for the kicker job in 2024, and it will be interesting to see how he performs in his second stint with the team.
