Rashee Rice is under investigation by authorities after allegedly leaving the scene of a car accident over the weekend, and there’s potential for multiple charges against the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver.
In a press briefing on Thursday, Rice’s legal representative disclosed that Rice was behind the wheel of a black Lamborghini SUV involved in what appeared to be a high-speed race with a Corvette on a Dallas freeway. The collision, which ensued after both vehicles lost control, involved four other cars. Rice and the Corvette driver departed from the scene.
A police report obtained by WFAA revealed the presence of drugs in the Lamborghini Rice was driving, with officers discovering 10.8 grams of marijuana, constituting a felony in Texas.
CBS 19 in Dallas reported finding marijuana in both vehicles, along with credit cards, a $16,500 check, a diamond chain, and a Chiefs playbook.
Despite this, Rice’s attorney, Royce West, made no mention of drugs during his media interaction, emphasizing Rice’s full cooperation with Dallas law enforcement and his commitment to assisting those affected by the accident. West acknowledged the likelihood of charges being filed against Rice.
The black Lamborghini SUV Rice was driving was reportedly leased from a luxury car company, with dashcam footage capturing the crash incident, released earlier this week.
