The New England Patriots are diligently assessing numerous NFL draft prospects as the key offseason event looms just three weeks away. This effort notably involved a close evaluation on Thursday of players from local colleges who might have flown under the radar.
The Patriots organized a comprehensive local pro day, subjecting participants to on-field drills and tests akin to those at the NFL Scouting Combine.
These players attending the sessions may not be high-profile prospects but are individuals striving to keep their NFL aspirations alive. Most are likely aiming for the undrafted free agent route or hoping for an invite to rookie minicamp if they’re not selected on Day 3 of the draft.

Coker stands out as the most prominent figure among the group, being the sole attendee of the NFL Scouting Combine. The 6-foot-1, 208-pound wide receiver, who clocked a 4.57 40-yard dash at the combine, amassed 59 receptions for 1,040 yards and 15 touchdowns in his final season with the Crusaders. He is projected to be a late-round pick.
Other noteworthy names on the list include players from more esteemed football programs such as Gallagher, a Raynham, Mass., native who led Northwestern with 120 tackles this season, alongside Maitre and Hergel.
Maitre played high school football at Everett High before spending four seasons with BC and concluding his college career with Wisconsin, where he recorded 33 tackles and an interception this past season.
