Enhancements within the Panthers’ roster will pave the way for top QB to excel further in 2024.”

Bryce Young endured a challenging rookie season with the struggling Carolina Panthers, encountering a myriad of setbacks. From ineffective blocking to receivers struggling to create separation, coupled with a lackluster rushing game and his own developmental hurdles, it was a trying time for the former Alabama standout.

Andy Dalton, brought in as a veteran mentor and retained amid coaching changes, acknowledged the adversity Young faced but praised his resilience. Despite the tumultuous circumstances, Dalton commended Young’s ability to persevere and urged him to stay focused.

Having weathered his own share of challenges during his lengthy career, Dalton empathized with Young’s journey. However, he remains optimistic about the Panthers’ concerted efforts to bolster Young’s support system heading into his sophomore campaign.

Under the guidance of new head coach Dave Canales, known for revitalizing quarterbacks like Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield, and with strategic signings like guards Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis to fortify protection, as well as the acquisition of receiver Diontae Johnson, the Panthers have made substantial investments to enhance Young’s surroundings.

Dalton expressed confidence in the team’s offseason moves, emphasizing their potential to pave the way for Young’s improvement and success in the upcoming season. With the Panthers banking heavily on Young’s potential, including sacrificing a first-round pick in a trade to secure him, the pressure is on for the young quarterback to demonstrate progress.

As the Panthers seek to set Young up for a more promising season, the onus now falls on the quarterback to capitalize on the improved conditions and fulfill the expectations placed upon him by Dalton and the organization.
