Defensive end Josh Allen, distinct from quarterback Josh Allen, has been a cornerstone of the Jaguars’ defense for the past five years.
During his first five seasons, Allen amassed 45 sacks and 251 total tackles. This morning, he was granted a contract extension befitting an elite defender.
Allen was initially franchise tagged heading into the 2024 season. Reports from NFL media indicated that securing a long-term deal for Allen was one of the Jaguars’ main objectives this offseason. Their efforts paid off, as Allen has signed a five-year, $150 million contract with up to $88 million in guarantees.

With his new contract, Allen now ranks as the third-highest-paid defensive player in terms of annual salary, trailing only Nick Bosa and Chris Jones.
