“I am determined not to be beaten by Green Bay this year.”
The NFL is no stranger to intense rivalries, but this season could see a significant shift in dynamics. Montez Sweat, speaking candidly on the “Green Light” podcast, escalated the league’s well-known rivalries to new heights.
As a member of the Bears and a highly regarded edge rusher, Sweat made a bold declaration of personal vendetta against the reigning Packers, catching the sporting world off guard.
In an unsolicited pledge, Sweat asserted, “I’m letting you know right now, man, I’m not losing to Green Bay this year. I can’t do it, I can’t do it, man. I’m not losing to Green Bay this year. We’ve created a real rivalry over there.”
Sweat emphasized that his friendships with several Packers players, particularly Rashan Gary, only add fuel to the fire of competition.
Having started his NFL journey in the Windy City with a 17-9 loss against Jordan Love and the Packers in Week 18, Sweat is determined to turn the tables. Currently, Green Bay holds a ten-game winning streak over the Bears.
In the historic matchup between these NFL powerhouses, Green Bay has consistently dominated, winning 17 out of the last 20 meetings and controlling 22 of the past 26 games against the Bears.
