Currently, the Patriots have a group of capable receivers but lack a true No. 1 option. Their primary pass catchers for 2024 include Kendrick Bourne, Jalen Reagor, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and KJ Osborn, who they recently acquired from the Vikings.
To enhance their receiving corps, the Patriots could pursue a dominant No. 1 wideout through the draft or free agency. Players like Brandon Aiyuk and Tee Higgins are potential targets, with Higgins specifically drawing interest from NFL analysts for the Patriots.
In a recent trade proposal by Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay, the Patriots could acquire Tee Higgins from the Bengals in exchange for their 2024 second-round pick (No. 34 overall) and a sixth-round pick (No. 214 overall). This trade would essentially allow the Bengals to trade Higgins, a late-round pick, and his sizable cap hit for a draft pick they used to select him four years earlier.
