The San Francisco Giants are on track to miss the playoffs again in what has been a disappointing season for the team.
The San Francisco Giants’ season has not unfolded as they had hoped, potentially jeopardizing their chances of making the playoffs. Despite being just 2.5 games behind the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers, the Giants were not included in recent playoff projections by Bleacher Report’s Tim Kelly.
Currently sitting at a 9-11 record, the Giants have struggled primarily due to their pitching staff’s early-season struggles. Ranked 25th in the league with a 4.50 ERA, the team has seen several pitchers, including offseason acquisition Blake Snell, struggle with ERAs of at least six over six innings pitched.
On the offensive side, the Giants have been average, with players like Matt Chapman and Mike Yastrzemski needing to improve their performances to bolster the team’s chances. While it’s still possible for the Giants to make the playoffs, they’ll need their players to step up and perform at their best.
