According to reports, Tyreek Hill alleges that the Kansas City Chiefs “disrespected” him by engaging in one particular hurtful action following the trade in 2022.
Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill has been publicly criticized by his head coach for his performance against the Kansas City Chiefs, but it seems that Hill is more deeply affected by how his former team handled his legacy prior to the 2022 season.
Following his trade to the Dolphins in March 2022, the Chiefs made the decision to assign the No. 10 jersey to another player, running back Isiah Pacheco. This move appears to have upset Hill, who feels disrespected by the decision.
In a recent appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, Hill spoke highly of Pacheco’s abilities but expressed hurt over the Chiefs’ choice to give away his former jersey number. He stated, “I did feel disrespected when they gave him 10 though. I didn’t like that. There’s only one 10 now. There should only be one 10 in your heart.”
Despite his feelings of disrespect from the Chiefs, Hill is encouraged to focus on his current team, the Dolphins. Having given six outstanding years to Kansas City, there is speculation about whether the Chiefs would retire his number if he had stayed with the team longer. Conversely, if Hill continues to excel in Miami and potentially secures a Super Bowl victory, the Dolphins may consider retiring his jersey in the future.
