The Vikings GM discussed Justin Jefferson’s contract.
After the NFL Draft, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, the Minnesota Vikings’ GM, emphasized the importance of securing star receiver Justin Jefferson’s future with the team.
Adofo-Mensah mentioned ongoing dialogue with Jefferson’s representatives, acknowledging that discussions were paused during the draft due to other players they represent and the team’s own processes. Adofo-Mensah expressed a desire for Jefferson to have a celebratory period, suggesting that if a contract is signed, Jefferson should have a significant celebration akin to having his own month.
Jefferson, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract and seeking to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL, had an impressive season despite missing seven games due to injury. He is expected to seek around $35 million per season. Jefferson will not participate in OTAs but is expected to be present for mandatory mini-camp in June.
