Laura Pegula, daughter of Terry Pegula, assumes a more prominent position in the Bills ownership amidst rumors of internal conflict.

Following his wife Kim’s health scare, Bills owner Terry Pegula has involved his daughter Laura in team ownership. According to The Athletic, Terry, 73, transferred a portion of the Bills to Laura last year, shortly after becoming Kim’s guardian following her heart attack in 2022. Previously, the couple shared 50-50 ownership of the Bills, as well as ownership of the Buffalo Sabres.

A source close to the Pegula family informed The Athletic that Kim is unlikely to return to either franchise’s front office. Laura, 41, Terry’s daughter from his first marriage, has become increasingly visible in the past year. She represented the family during NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s state of the league address at the owners’ meetings and has been participating in Q&A sessions with Bills and Sabres employees. However, there is reported confusion among employees, including executives, regarding Kim’s prognosis and Laura’s role.

Tennis star Jessica Pegula, Terry and Kim’s daughter, shared insights into her mother’s condition in an essay for The Players’ Tribune last February. She described Kim’s struggles with expressive aphasia and memory issues but highlighted her determination in the recovery process. Interestingly, shortly after Jessica’s essay was published, her husband Taylor Gahagen was reportedly fired by Terry as director of corporate development, coinciding with Laura being given an equity stake in the Bills.
