An NFL executive delivers a clear message regarding Bo Nix, the former football standout from Oregon and Auburn.

An unnamed NFL executive shared with The Athletic’s Mike Sando that Bo Nix, the former football star from Oregon and Auburn, is poised for success in Sean Payton’s offense and is expected to outperform his predecessor, Russell Wilson, with the Denver Broncos.

Expressing confidence, the executive stated, “I’m heavily betting on his success. Bo brings experience, ample arm talent, and a willingness to adhere to coaching. Sean Payton’s system suits him well. Unlike Russ, Bo is less inclined to stray from the playbook. While I may not wish him success, I anticipate he’ll thrive in Denver.”

Selected as the 12th pick in the 2024 NFL draft, Nix is likely to step into a starting role immediately, despite Denver’s prior acquisition of Zach Wilson.

Meanwhile, former Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham remains a contender for the Broncos’ starting QB position. However, it seems unlikely he did enough in the 2023 season to convince Payton and the team to forgo pursuing upgrades. Although Stidham may currently be the third-string option, Wilson’s performance with the NY Jets hasn’t convinced many that he’s a guaranteed starter.

While Stidham’s tenure in Denver may be short-lived, for now, he’ll be sharing the QB room with the player who succeeded him at Auburn.
