Bills Personnel Director Terrence Gray Offers Insights on Patriots Interview Opportunity”
The Patriots are said to have followed the Rooney Rule, which is a positive step, considering that executives from other teams seem reluctant to interview for the vacant General Manager position in New England.
According to Albert Breer of SI.com, the Patriots reached out to Terrance Gray, the Director of Player Personnel for the Bills, for an interview. However, Gray politely declined the opportunity.
If the Patriots have yet to fulfill the Rooney Rule (the identities of those interviewed remain undisclosed), they may face issues down the line. The prevailing belief that Eliot Wolf is the frontrunner for the position might be dissuading potential candidates from pursuing interviews.
Nevertheless, even if Wolf is ultimately chosen, conducting interviews could provide valuable experience for future opportunities.
Despite this, it’s been reported that at least three candidates have turned down the opportunity. Many across the league are seemingly awaiting Wolf’s official appointment as the head of New England’s football operations.
