“Bills Unveil Trio of Rising Stars to Bridge Salary Cap Gaps”

The Buffalo Bills initiated a youth movement during the offseason, shedding contracts of veteran players and opening up opportunities for rookies to step into larger roles. Particularly at defensive end and in the pass-catching department, the Bills are anticipated to rely on young talents to step up and fill gaps in the 2024 season.

Here are three potential breakout candidates on the Bills’ current roster:

Dalton Kincaid, Tight End
Despite an impressive rookie season with 73 receptions, Kincaid still has the potential to elevate his status from a significant contributor to a primary target in the Bills’ passing attack. With the departure of the Bills’ top two wide receivers from the previous season, Kincaid is poised to see an increase in targets and playing time, especially with the Bills expected to utilize more two-tight end formations.

Greg Rousseau, Defensive End

With veteran Von Miller aging and Leonard Floyd no longer on the team, Rousseau has the opportunity to emerge as the Bills’ top edge rusher. Despite showing promise in his first three NFL seasons, Rousseau has yet to consistently dominate. However, the Bills’ decision to exercise his fifth-year option demonstrates their confidence in him, and now it’s time for Rousseau to deliver a breakout season.

Dorian Williams, Linebacker

Williams saw action in all 17 games as a rookie but played second fiddle to Tyrel Dodson in linebacker reps. Although he contributed significantly on special teams and amassed 40 tackles, Williams still needs to earn the coaching staff’s trust on defense.

The hope is for Williams to follow a similar trajectory as Terrel Bernard, who transitioned from limited playing time as a rookie to becoming an impact starter in his second year.
