After a year away from the NFL, five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry is seeking to revive his football career. Currently participating in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ rookie minicamp, Landry aims to impress the franchise and secure a contract.
Landry’s last NFL appearance was in 2022, playing for the New Orleans Saints. In that season, he appeared in nine games, recording a career-low of 25 receptions for 272 yards and a touchdown.
Addressing reporters on Friday, Landry expressed his desire not to conclude his career on such a disappointing note. “The competitor in me says no,” Landry remarked. “But again, whatever. Whatever’s in God’s hands, in his cards, I just kind of roll with that.”
Landry cited an ankle injury in 2022 as a significant setback and intentionally sat out the following season to ensure full recovery. “I’ve got some cleanup things to do obviously, but for the most part I felt pretty good,” he noted. “Caught the ball well, so I feel good.”
Entering the league in 2014 as a second-round pick by the Miami Dolphins, Landry swiftly became known as one of the league’s most reliable wide receivers. After four years in Miami, where he earned three Pro Bowl selections, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns. During his tenure with the Browns, he earned two more Pro Bowl nods.
Throughout his career, Landry has amassed 713 receptions for 7,870 yards and 38 touchdowns.
