The Minnesota Vikings have added tight end Sammis Reyes to their roster via the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program.

The Minnesota Vikings have reportedly signed tight end Sammis Reyes following his participation in rookie minicamp. Reyes, who joins the team through the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program, adds depth to the tight end lineup, which includes T.J. Hockenson, Nick Muse, Josh Oliver, Johnny Mundt, and Trey Knox.

Reyes has played in eleven games during his career and went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, he was selected in the fourth round as the 34th pick in the CFL Draft. He has had stints with teams such as the Washington Commanders, Chicago Bears, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Prior to his football career, Reyes was a basketball prospect. He attended Tulane University after transferring from Palm Beach State College and Loyola University in Louisiana.

After suffering a concussion, Reyes announced his retirement from professional football in May 2023. He was later released and cleared by the Jacksonville Jaguars in February 2024, leading to his decision to return to the field.
