Vikings sign tight end

The Minnesota Vikings have added tight end Sammie Reyes to their roster, signing him to a contract yesterday. As a participant in the NFL’s International Player Pathway program, Reyes does not count towards the Vikings’ 90-man offseason roster limit, providing the team with an additional developmental opportunity without sacrificing a roster spot.

Reyes last played in the NFL in 2021, appearing in 11 games for the Washington Football Team. This period marked his introduction to the league, but he has since been out of action.

Reyes’ journey back to the NFL with the Vikings represents a significant chance for him to reignite his professional football career.

The International Player Pathway program aims to provide international athletes with the opportunity to compete at the highest level of American football. By signing Reyes, the Vikings benefit from this initiative, allowing them to develop a player with a unique background and untapped potential.

For Reyes, this signing is more than just a contract; it is a renewed opportunity to prove his capabilities and secure a more permanent role in the league. After a hiatus, this contract could be the turning point Reyes needs to establish himself as a viable option at the tight end position in the NFL.
