Head coach John Harbaugh addressed the status of Keoton Mitchell, who is expected to serve as Henry’s backup, during a recent discussion. Nonetheless, Harbaugh emphasized the need for patience and caution regarding Mitchell’s potential return to play in the 2024 season.
Speaking to the media, Harbaugh provided an update on Mitchell’s recovery, stating that he is “on schedule.” However, the team plans to take a cautious approach with the young running back. Mitchell’s rookie season saw him start on the injured reserve list, with his debut delayed until mid-October. Unfortunately, he returned to the injured reserve in December after sustaining a torn ACL in Week 15.
Harbaugh indicated that while Mitchell’s recovery is progressing, he will not be ready for training camp and his return to the field is anticipated “sometime during the season,” rather than in the immediate future.
