Opponent Responds to Vikings Defensive Back Mekhi Blackmon’s Mockery of Incorrect Report.

The Minnesota Vikings will face the Chicago Bears in Week 12 at Soldier Field and again in Week 15 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Former college teammates Mekhi Blackmon and Caleb Williams will have to wait a while before playing against each other.

Blackmon and Williams were teammates at USC during the 2022 season.

The Vikings selected Blackmon in the third round of the 2023 draft with the 102nd pick, while the Bears chose Williams first overall in this year’s draft.

Williams had an inconsistent day of practice recently, which resulted in a humorously false report claiming he was benched for throwing seven interceptions during the session.

Chicago is implementing a new offense under offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, who was hired this offseason. Waldron, from the Sean McVay branch of the Shanahan coaching tree, previously worked with Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell on the Los Angeles Rams in 2020.
