Although Tom Brady departed from the New England Patriots in 2020 to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his legacy continues to be cherished in Foxborough.
Brady’s tenure with the Patriots was marked by an extraordinary run of success, including 17 division titles, 13 AFC Championship Games, nine Super Bowl appearances, and six Super Bowl victories.
Often hailed as the ‘GOAT’ of the NFL, Brady’s legendary status is rarely disputed. However, a former teammate recently made an intriguing comment about him.
Phillip Dorsett Says Tom Brady Isn’t the Most Talented QB He’s Played With
Wide receiver Phillip Dorsett, who played with the Patriots from 2017-2019 and made 73 receptions for 881 yards and eight touchdowns, shared his thoughts on Brady. Despite playing alongside the seven-time Super Bowl champion for three seasons, Dorsett believes that Andrew Luck was the most talented quarterback he has ever played with.

Dorsett discussed this on “The Money Down Podcast,” stating, “I always say this to everybody. People ask me because they know I played with Tom. They’re like, ‘Who was the best quarterback you played with?’ Honestly, talent-wise, it was Andrew Luck, for sure. He was a natural-born leader, tough, athletic, and had a strong arm. Watching him play basketball, you’d think he was an all-around athlete. It’s just injuries, bro. It’s football.”
Dorsett emphasized Luck’s physical gifts, highlighting his athleticism, intelligence, and accuracy. Dorsett played with Luck on the Indianapolis Colts from 2015-2016, during which he recorded 51 catches for 753 yards and three touchdowns.
Entering the NFL as a highly-touted prospect, Luck was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Colts and showcased remarkable talent. In six NFL seasons, Luck completed 60.8% of his passes for 23,671 yards, 171 touchdowns, and 83 interceptions. Unfortunately, persistent injuries led him to retire in August 2019 at the age of 29.
While acknowledging Luck’s talent, Dorsett’s comments are sure to stir debate among Patriots fans. However, he wanted to give credit to his former teammate, recognizing Luck’s exceptional abilities.
