This week, McCaffrey received recognition for his talents by gracing the cover of the esteemed Madden 25 video game. His father, Ed McCaffrey, expressed immense pride in his son’s achievement, reminiscing about their family’s fond memories of playing the game together.
“It’s remarkable because I know it’s been a dream of his,” remarked Ed McCaffrey on the RG3 and the Real Ones podcast presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment on YouTube. “John Madden was a legend, and his video game is legendary. Every football-loving kid plays that game, and Christian and his brothers, along with their friends, spent countless hours in our basement playing. I have broken controllers and a hole in the wall to prove it. It’s like collecting football cards for kids nowadays; being on a Madden cover is something you aspire to.”
Ed McCaffrey, a former NFL player himself, reminisced about his own Madden ratings, recalling his last rating of 84 overall back in 2003.
The 49ers have long been on the cusp of NFL greatness but have yet to seize the ultimate prize. Despite dominating the regular season with formidable players like McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk, the team faced challenges in the playoffs. While they put up a valiant effort in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs, they ultimately fell short, marking their second defeat to the Chiefs in four years on the grand stage.
