Safety Tony Jefferson is ending his retirement to join the Chargers.

Tony Jefferson is making his NFL comeback.

The veteran safety impressed during a workout with the Los Angeles Chargers and is now signing with the team, as announced on Friday.

Jefferson’s return to the NFL is closely tied to new Chargers general manager Joe Hortiz, who moved from Baltimore to Los Angeles this past winter. Jefferson had signed a four-year, $34 million deal with the Ravens in 2017 under Hortiz. Since his move, Hortiz has brought several former Ravens to the Chargers, including Gus Edwards, J.K. Dobbins, Hayden Hurst, Bradley Bozeman, and Ben Mason. Jefferson is the latest addition to this group.
