2024 Colts Preview Chris Shepherd’s Exclusive Insights on the Eliminating Points Podcast

Every year they conduct a breakdown of each division, and this year they invited me to join them for the AFC South segment to discuss the Colts. Naturally, most of their questions revolved around Anthony Richardson, but the toughest ones were about our defensive backfield.

Specifically, they asked about Nick Cross’s role, and truthfully, I don’t have a clear answer at this point. However, one question did irk me a bit. Jay labeled Anthony Richardson as a “run-first quarterback,” which I found inaccurate based on his performance on tape.

I felt compelled to correct that perception. Ironically, I wouldn’t have minded if they called him inaccurate, but we didn’t quite get to that point.

By the end of our discussion, we covered the entire roster. I confidently stated that the Indianapolis Colts will win more than 8 games next season and reluctantly picked who I thought would win the division.

But the real excitement came after they wrapped up with me. As they transitioned into their two-man show, they meticulously went through the Colts’ schedule, week by week, for the entire season.
