Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels is progressing well in his understanding of the offense, according to head coach Dan Quinn, who sees Daniels embodying the qualities of a potential franchise quarterback. While acknowledging Daniels’ confidence and grasp of the playbook, Quinn also highlights his humility as a young player who recognizes the need to prove himself.
“He’s carrying himself with swagger,” Quinn told ESPN. “He’s really immersed himself in our system, yet he maintains the humility of a young player … understanding he still has a lot to demonstrate.”
Quinn emphasized that the starting quarterback position between Daniels and Marcus Mariota remains undecided. However, if Daniels continues to meet expectations during training camp and the preseason, it’s likely he’ll be leading the Commanders when they face the Buccaneers in Week One.
