Reports: Patriots Sign RB to 4-Year Extension

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson and the New England Patriots have agreed to a four-year, $36 million contract extension, with $17 million guaranteed, according to reports from ESPN and NFL Network on Thursday.

Stevenson, 26, had been set to earn a base salary of $3.116 million in the final year of his rookie contract, which he signed after being drafted by the Patriots in the fourth round of the 2021 draft.

This extension keeps him with the team through the 2028 season. Stevenson mentioned earlier this month that negotiations were progressing positively, noting the lengthy but expected nature of the process. Last season, he missed the final three games due to a high ankle sprain, ending a 4-13 campaign.

In 12 games, Stevenson rushed for 619 yards and four touchdowns, also catching 38 passes for 238 yards. In his three-season career, he has amassed 2,265 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns, as well as 121 receptions for 782 yards and a receiving touchdown.
