Chargers’ Coach Harbaugh Shares Promising Star Player’s Injury Update

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh indicated that Denzel Perryman is likely to be ready to join the team at the start of training camp, despite currently being sidelined with an injury during OTAs.

Edwards, who signed a two-year deal with the Chargers early in free agency, has shown impressive dedication and progress in his recovery, according to Harbaugh’s remarks to reporters on Thursday.

“He’s an incredible worker and we’re seeing incremental gains, which is very encouraging. He’s on a good trajectory and we’re eager to see him back at full strength,” Harbaugh commented.

Edwards joined the Chargers this offseason following a successful stint with the Baltimore Ravens, where he achieved career-highs in various statistical categories during the 2023 season, including rushing for 810 yards and 13 touchdowns on 198 carries. His receiving game also saw improvements, with career highs of 12 receptions for 180 yards.

Reuniting with former Ravens teammates and coaches, including offensive coordinator Greg Roman, Edwards is expected to play a significant role in the Chargers’ revamped offensive strategy, particularly emphasizing the running game.

His experience will be crucial for a Chargers backfield that includes promising but less seasoned players like J.K. Dobbins, Kimani Vidal, and Isaiah Spiller.

As the Chargers prepare for the upcoming season, Edwards’ recovery and return to full health will be pivotal in shaping the team’s offensive dynamics under Roman’s leadership.
