Breaking News: LSU Stuns Rivals by Signing 5-Star Miami Standout for 2024
Miami football awaits commitment announcements from other cornerbacks following D.J. Pickett’s decision to commit to LSU on Thursday. Miami’s coaching staff continues to actively recruit Pickett, hoping for a potential change of heart, while also focusing on three other cornerbacks high on their recruitment list.
In June, four-star cornerbacks Jaboree Antoine and Ben Hanks, along with three-star Aidan Anding, visited Miami on official visits. Antoine is scheduled to announce his commitment on Saturday at noon, while Anding and Hanks have not yet set their announcement dates. Previously, Miami secured commitments from cornerbacks Chris Ewald and Timothy Merritt.
LSU appears to be the frontrunner for Antoine’s commitment, as evidenced by the only crystal ball prediction favoring LSU shortly after he de-committed from the Tigers. According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, LSU holds a 51.4 percent chance of landing Antoine, with Miami close behind at 44.9 percent.
There are no crystal ball predictions logged for Hanks yet. On3’s RPM predicts Florida as the leader for Hanks with a 47.3 percent likelihood of commitment, while Miami follows at 24.9 percent. Other programs are considered to have less than a 10 percent chance of securing Hanks, who has familial ties to Florida.
Canes still in pretty good shape at CB for 2025, with Ewald and Merritt commited. Four-star Louisiana based CB Jaboree Antoine will announce Saturday, with UM, FSU, LSU in mix. (And this UM staff is very good at flipping players close to Signing Day.) https://t.co/6vidtY79NX

LSU and Texas are both seen as leading contenders for Anding. One prediction favors Texas, while three favor LSU. The most recent three predictions all indicate a preference for LSU. According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Texas holds a 57.4 percent probability of securing Anding’s commitment, with LSU trailing at 38.8 percent. Other programs have chances below 2.5 percent.
Miami’s cornerback coach Chevis Jackson joined the team in February, succeeding Jahmile Addae who departed for the Buffalo Bills. Establishing relationships is crucial in recruiting, and Jackson is in the early stages of building those connections at Miami. Looking ahead, Miami may identify another cornerback prospect for the 2025 season or consider adding a transfer to bolster the position after the 2024 season.
