“Seattle Seahawks Poised to Finalize Major Deal with Miami Dolphins Center”

Former Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys interior offensive lineman Connor Williams will meet with the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who reported the news on Monday.

Drew Rosenhaus, who represents Connor Williams, indicated in late June that the former second-round pick had fully recovered from last year’s season-ending ACL injury and wishes to continue playing center. Williams, who initially played guard during his first four seasons, transitioned to center after signing a two-year contract with the Dolphins in 2022.

Last season, Evan Brown started 16 games for the Seahawks, but with Brown having signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle could benefit from a seasoned center. The Seahawks’ current roster includes Nick Harris, Olu Oluwatimi, and Michael Novitsky, who together had a total of 350 professional snaps at center last season. In contrast, Williams recorded 497 snaps despite dealing with several injuries.

The Seahawks allowed only 2.2 sacks per game last season but now have uncertainties at center and left guard, particularly after Damien Lewis signed a lucrative four-year, $53 million contract with the Carolina Panthers. While it’s not ideal to make major free-agent signings just before training camp, Williams, if healthy, could provide an immediate upgrade for Seattle.
