Breaking News: Lions Coach Sends Heartfelt Message as Key Cornerback’s Future Uncertain

There’s a saying that goes, “If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all.” According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Detroit Lions cornerback Emmanuel Moseley suffered a torn pectoral during Monday’s practice against the Giants and is now out indefinitely.

This marks three consecutive seasons where Moseley has endured significant injuries. While playing for the San Francisco 49ers in 2022, he tore his ACL in his left knee. The Lions signed him to a one-year contract in 2023, and after facing setbacks in his recovery, he made his debut in Week 5 last season. Almost exactly a year after his first ACL tear, Moseley tore his other ACL (right knee) just two snaps into the game.

Detroit Lions re-sign CB Emmanuel Moseley

The Lions re-signed Moseley to another one-year deal this offseason, where he was vying for the nickel corner role during training camp. During Monday’s practice, Moseley was the first to take snaps at nickel corner with the first-team defense. There were no immediate signs of injury, as reported by Justin Rogers of Detroit Football Network, just the routine expectation that others like Amik Robertson and Ennis Rakestraw were getting reps at the nickel spot with the first-team as well.
