On Sunday, the New England Patriots announced with deep sorrow the passing of team physician Dr. Mark Price. In a statement issued on behalf of owner Robert Kraft, the team extended their heartfelt condolences to Dr. Price’s family, friends, and colleagues.

The statement expressed, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Mark Price, a respected team physician who battled cancer with great courage. Dr. Price joined the Patriots as head team physician and medical director in 2016, bringing exceptional expertise and dedication. His work was crucial to the health and well-being of our players, and his commitment to excellence was evident throughout his tenure.

During his seven-season tenure, he played a key role in the team’s two Super Bowl victories. Despite his transition, he remained a part of the team’s extended medical network.

In addition to his role with the Patriots, Dr. Price was a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon at Mass General Brigham Sports Medicine and an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Harvard Medical School.

The Patriots’ statement concluded, “We offer our deepest condolences to Dr. Price’s family, friends, and colleagues during this challenging time. His legacy will live on through the many lives he impacted and the significant contributions he made in his field.”
