To fill the void left by Kelce, the Eagles have brought in several players, including Mekhi Becton, a former first-round pick by the New York Jets in 2020. However, after missing the entire 2022 season due to injury, Becton was not retained by the Jets, allowing the Eagles to acquire him at a bargain.
Unfortunately, as reported by Jeff McLane, Becton suffered an injury during practice over the weekend. While McLane’s sources indicate that the injury isn’t serious and Becton is expected to return soon, any absence is critical, particularly for an offensive lineman.
With Jalen Hurts and the rest of the offense looking to regain their form, the team needs as much time together as possible to build chemistry. A slow start could be detrimental, especially with the NFC becoming increasingly competitive, leaving little room for error.
