Buffalo Bills WR Faces Tough Preseason Challenges Head-On

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman exudes confidence, but his preseason performance has been modest. After two games, the second-round pick has managed just two catches for 20 yards and believes he should’ve had more.

“It’s just a drop,” Coleman acknowledged about his missed catch at the goal line against the Steelers. “It’s a focus drop; I need to focus more and make the play.”

Coleman feels he should’ve caught that red-zone pass from Mitch Trubisky on Saturday.

While Trubisky’s throw could have been better, Coleman’s willingness to own up to his mistakes is noted by his teammates, who are not judging his progress based solely on these preseason games.

“I’m pleased with where he’s at,” Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady said. “I understand the expectations given his draft position, but I focus more on his daily performance in practice rather than just preseason stats.”

Coleman initially won over Bills Mafia with a memorable press conference, where he shared a relatable story about buying winter jackets at Macy’s. However, he’s now focused on football.

“I don’t want to focus on the jacket anymore,” Coleman said. “My mindset has been on football since my first press conference. I’m more interested in learning the playbook and adjusting to the game’s speed.”

Despite an inconsistent preseason, Coleman is putting in the effort, and quarterback Josh Allen is confident in his future contributions.

“I think he’s perfect for a city like Buffalo,” Allen said. “He’s played in high-pressure games in college and risen to the occasion, so I have no doubts about his ability to help us win.”
