Two Las Vegas Raiders Defenders Listed on Injury Report
The Las Vegas Raiders have added two players to their Thursday injury report ahead of their Week 1 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Guard Jackson Powers-Johnson is dealing with an illness and did not practice, while defensive end Malcolm Koonce was limited due to a knee injury after participating fully the day before.
Koonce’s situation is particularly significant, as he starts opposite Maxx Crosby. Although Jackson Powers-Johnson is expected to start at left guard at some point this season, he won’t be available for Week 1 after missing considerable time during the offseason.
Regarding the rest of the injury report, there were no changes. Tight end Brock Bowers (foot), linebacker Tommy Eichenberg (knee), and cornerback Decamerion Richardson (concussion) remain limited, while defensive end Tyree Wilson (foot), linebacker Robert Spillane (back), left tackle Kolton Miller (shoulder), and long snapper Jacob Bobenmoyer participated fully.
Malcolm Koonce, a former third-round pick, had a breakout season last year with eight sacks and is crucial to the Raiders’ defense, which has the potential to be elite in 2024.
The Raiders will provide their final injury report on Friday, which will offer more clarity on Koonce’s availability for the game.
