Despite the backlash, Love and his teammates, including Jones, chose to channel their frustrations into hard work. They organized workouts with Packers’ receivers and running backs outside official team activities to demonstrate their commitment and quell doubters.
Their efforts paid off; after a slow start in 2023, the Packers finished strong, going 7-3 in their last ten games, with Love emerging as one of the league’s top quarterbacks. Jones also made history by becoming the first player in franchise history to rush for over 100 yards in five consecutive games.
However, following the 2023 season, Jones was released by the Packers and signed with the Minnesota Vikings, setting the stage for an emotional return to Lambeau Field this Sunday.
