The Bengals announced on Saturday that cornerback DJ Ivey has been activated from the physically unable-to-perform (PUP) list. Additionally, center Trey Hill will be elevated for Week 7 action.
Ivey, 24, was a seventh-round selection by Cincinnati in the 2023 NFL Draft, coming out of the University of Miami. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year rookie deal, which is valued at $3.92 million.
In the 2024 season, Ivey has played in eight games, contributing three tackles, one pass deflection, and recovering a fumble. As a young player with potential, his return from the PUP list is a boost to the Bengals’ secondary depth as they look to strengthen their defense for the remainder of the season.
Meanwhile, Hill, who has seen time in the offensive line rotation, will provide crucial depth at center as the Bengals prepare for a pivotal Week 7 matchup. His elevation suggests the coaching staff sees value in his ability to contribute on the offensive line, especially with potential injury concerns or adjustments.
Ivey’s activation and Hill’s promotion reflect the Bengals’ focus on keeping their roster flexible and competitive as they move deeper into the season.
