Tom Brady Lauds Dominant Eagles Star—And It’s Not Saquon Barkley!

As Tom Brady prepared to unveil his top-5 NFL teams heading into Thanksgiving for Fox Sports, it was a given that the Philadelphia Eagles would make the list.

With an offense on fire, a defense among the NFL’s elite, and an MVP-caliber player like Saquon Barkley leading the charge, the Eagles have become a force to be reckoned with. Barkley has redefined offensive playmaking in 2024, excelling in inside and outside runs, as well as catching passes out of the backfield.

Despite his Super Bowl loss to Philadelphia five years ago, Brady placed the Eagles fourth in his power rankings, acknowledging their success. He also singled out one of the key figures behind their strong performance: defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.

“Next up, one of the hottest teams in the NFL: the Philadelphia Eagles. They’re riding a seven-game win streak. Saquon Barkley, you’re on fire, setting franchise records in LA on Sunday night,” Brady shared with fans online. “But it’s not just about the offense; the defense has been dominant since the bye week. They lead the league in almost every category. Vic Fangio, you’re a stud coordinator, you’ve been great for a long time. But they’ve got a huge test coming up against Lamar Jackson.”

It’s impressive that Brady took the high road, especially after the Eagles’ Super Bowl win over his Patriots in 2018. Despite the tough loss, he kept things respectful, acknowledging the Eagles’ success even if some of the key players he mentioned weren’t with the team at the time. His shift from bitterness to genuine appreciation is a welcome sign of maturity.

Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is certainly eager for the upcoming Week 13 showdown with the Ravens.
