While it might seem disrespectful to label the Packers’ win as “fortunate,” it was crucial, especially since the Lions defeated the Chicago Bears earlier in the day to improve to 11-1. Additionally, former Packers running back Aaron Jones and the Minnesota Vikings now hold a 10-2 record.
Currently, the Packers sit with the fourth-best record in the NFC, occupying the second wild card spot (sixth seed). To improve their positioning, they must win their final five games, including crucial matchups against both the Lions and Vikings.
In preparation for their Week 14 game, Green Bay faces a tough challenge against the 11-1 Lions on the road. Detroit won the first matchup 24-14 at Lambeau Field, making Thursday’s game essential if the Packers hope to stay in the division race.
In response to the upcoming showdown, the Lions signed three-time Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams to their practice squad, with plans to elevate him to the active roster before the Packers’ visit. Adams, who previously played for the Tennessee Titans, was released after injuries sidelined him earlier this season.
