According to NFL on CBS insider Jonathan Jones, the Chicago Bears are one of three teams interested in interviewing Mike Vrabel for their head coach position. Jones mentioned this during his pre-game show on Sunday, noting that Vrabel, a former Coach of the Year, is currently a consultant with the Cleveland Browns and is eager for another head coaching opportunity.
Jones pointed out that the Bears, along with the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets, are reportedly keen on interviewing Vrabel. He believes Vrabel, who has a strong preference for working with an experienced general manager, could be a great fit for a team looking for a “leader of men.” This is not the first time Vrabel’s name has been connected to the Bears. Earlier, Jones had mentioned him as one of several candidates who could fit the Bears’ criteria for a head coach.
In addition to Jones’ report, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport also linked Vrabel to the Bears’ head coach search. Despite Vrabel’s mixed results in Tennessee, where he led the Titans to a 54-45 record and an AFC Championship appearance, his leadership and ability to build team culture make him a strong candidate. Although his Titans teams were never Super Bowl contenders, Vrabel’s defensive background and coaching experience keep him high on the Bears’ radar.
