In that game, Mahomes had his best performance of the season, completing 29 of 38 passes for 320 yards and three touchdowns without any interceptions or sacks. He’s been battling a high ankle sprain since Week 15 but has continued to play through the injury, helping the Chiefs maintain their winning streak.
With the top AFC seed clinched, the Chiefs’ final regular-season game against the Denver Broncos may not require Mahomes to play. Kansas City, with a 15-1 record, remains the favorite to win an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl championship.
