Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph was reportedly frustrated after being snubbed for this year’s NFC Pro Bowl team, and he directed his anger at former Lions QB Matthew Stafford. Stafford, who was traded to the Rams in 2021, was called out in a now-deleted Instagram post from Joseph after the Lions’ Week 17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
The post featured Joseph holding a tablet with “F*** Stafford” displayed on the screen. Many believed the post was a response to a heated exchange between the two during the Lions’ 26-20 win over the Rams in Week 1, where Stafford accused Joseph of being “dirty.”
Joseph had a standout season, leading the NFL in interceptions with nine, but was passed over for the Pro Bowl, where he was instead named a second alternate. Despite leading in fan voting, it seems he struggled with player and coach votes. Stafford’s criticism of Joseph earlier in the season, along with the Pro Bowl oversight, seemed to fuel the safety’s outburst.
