49ers Set to Dominate Cardinals: Here’s Why.

The 49ers have just one more game left in the 2024 season before they can move on. Although a loss to Arizona might boost their draft position, it’s unlikely to happen. Here are three reasons why the 49ers will come out on top against the Cardinals:

1. Motivation
While the 49ers might struggle to muster the same energy against the Cardinals as they did against the Lions, the Cardinals have even less motivation. After their playoff hopes were dashed by a loss to the Panthers, Arizona seemed disengaged, evident in their 13-9 loss to the Rams. The 49ers are likely to have the edge in this department.

2. No James Conner
The Cardinals’ best offensive player, running back James Conner, was placed on Injured Reserve and will miss the game. Conner had been key to their offense, including a strong performance against the 49ers earlier in the season. With him out, Arizona’s offense loses its main weapon, making it easier for the 49ers to focus on defending Kyler Murray and Trey McBride.

3. 49ers Have More Talent
Even with injuries, the 49ers remain the more talented team. Arizona’s roster doesn’t compare to San Francisco‘s, and even with Brock Purdy unavailable, backup quarterback Joshua Dobbs should still be effective. Dobbs is capable of making explosive plays with his legs, but the 49ers’ overall talent will likely carry them to victory against a demotivated Cardinals squad.
