Tyreek Hill #10 of the Miami Dolphins
Should the Buffalo Bills Target Tyreek Hill to Boost Their Offense?

After another heartbreaking playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills’ season ended with a bitter 32-29 defeat. Despite a valiant effort, the loss highlighted some lingering issues for the team, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. But there’s another area where the Bills could see a dramatic improvement: their offense.
Quarterback Josh Allen has been one of the league’s top playmakers, but even the most talented quarterbacks need elite weapons to maximize their potential. As the Bills look to take the next step toward a Super Bowl, one intriguing possibility for a game-changing addition has emerged: Tyreek Hill, wide receiver for their AFC East rivals, the Miami Dolphins.
Could the Bills land Hill and elevate their offense to new heights?
The Case for Tyreek Hill
Maximus Polek of Yardbarker recently floated the idea that Tyreek Hill could be a prime target for the Bills. While it would be a challenging and somewhat unlikely move—since trading within the AFC East division is rare—it’s one the Bills should seriously consider if Hill becomes available.
Hill would undoubtedly be a massive addition to Buffalo’s offense. The 30-year-old wide receiver is one of the most electrifying players in the league, and while he didn’t have his best season in 2024, he’s still more than capable of being a top-tier No. 1 receiver.
In 2024, Hill had 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns, which is still solid production but a dip from his previous season. In 2023, he had 119 catches for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns, a year in which he finished as one of the NFL’s top wideouts. A big factor in the dip was the injury-plagued season of Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, which limited Hill’s production and overall effectiveness.
Even at 30, Hill remains a legitimate threat on the field. His combination of speed, route-running, and ability to stretch the field would immediately give Josh Allen one of the most dynamic targets in the league. Pairing Hill with Allen could be the catalyst for a resurgence in Hill’s production, and it would certainly put the Bills’ offense in a better position to compete with the Chiefs, their perennial playoff rivals.
Would the Dolphins Actually Trade Hill?
The question remains: would the Miami Dolphins be willing to trade Tyreek Hill within the AFC East? Historically, intra-division trades are rare, and it’s even more unlikely that a team would trade a star player to a division rival who is a serious contender. But with the Dolphins coming off a disappointing season, and with Hill set to turn 31 soon, Miami may consider the possibility of moving him if the price is right.
For the Bills, making an offer that Miami couldn’t refuse would be key. Buffalo would need to weigh whether offering a package of high draft picks or young assets would be enough to persuade the Dolphins to pull the trigger. While it’s not the most likely trade scenario, it’s one that could have a significant impact on Buffalo’s championship aspirations.
Final Thoughts
As the Bills regroup after another near-miss in the playoffs, the team’s pursuit of a No. 1 wide receiver could be the difference between remaining a contender and finally reaching the Super Bowl. Tyreek Hill is a tantalizing option that could take Buffalo’s offense to the next level.
If Hill becomes available this offseason, the Bills need to be on the phone with the Dolphins. Trading within the division may be rare, but if the Bills are serious about making a championship run, they should be willing to pay the price to make it happen.
